be connected to the Internet. You earn "points" which are then translated into dollars.

4. PaidForSurf
is a program that pays you to be on-line. It is not necessary to have your browser open for
this program. Simply be connected to the Internet. It is one of the best and normally I
would have it in the No. 2 spot, right after Spedia, but recently they have "upgraded" to a
new version of their "SurfBar" and it doesn't yet work right for everybody. I will put it
back to the No.2 or even No.1 spot if I see that this problem is fixed.
Availability: all over the world, right now! Sums paid: Not fixed. Currently around $0.18/hour. Hours paid: No limit! Referral levels: 5 |
5. MoveAbout
(formerly ClickDough) is a program that you can use from any computer in the world without
having to download anything! Yet, if you want to, you can download the TurboTop utility from
their page and make the little ad-window stay steady, on top of other Windows. Its recent
acquisition by About.com promises to pump a lot of money into this and increase earnings!
(Remember us when this happens!) Also, notice that MoveAbout pays in your local currency, not just in US Dollars. Availability: all over the world right now! Sums paid: Not fixed. Currently around $0.08 / hour but sums paid will most probably rise (read above).. BE SURE TO FILL IN THE 2 BRIEF SURVEYS WHEN YOU SIGN UP, so that you get the premium rate. Hours paid: No limit, but you only get the Premium rate for your first 2 hours every day. So, use this program for 2 hours per day and then switch to PaidForSurf, DesktopDollars or some other similar program. Referral levels: 8 |
6. ePipo.com
also gives you the chance to make money for surfing the web. Just download a small "Surf
Window" which shows ads.

7. ÁllÁdvantage
is the program that started it all! Although it has recently put some limitations on
usage (fewer hours per month, less money) it is still quite a good deal if it operates in
your country.
Availability: U.S.A., Canada, the U.K., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, and pretty soon in more countries! Even if you live in another country, like I do, register now and start building a referral network that will bring you profits in the future. Sums paid: $0.50/hour and additional revenue (commissions) for your referrals. Hours paid: 25 hrs/month Referral levels (for which you receive commissions):5 |
8. Join UtopiAD
and get paid for being on-line. It also has an optional program for receiving advertising
e-mails and a cash-back shopping program.
Availability: U.S.A. and Canada but international members are credited for the income generated by their US referrals and for the income they accumulate from the paid emails. International members will be paid these amounts when the program launches in their country. Sums paid: 40% - 58% of advertising revenue Hours paid: no limit mentioned Referral levels: 4 |
9. Go to AllComunity.
You can:
Sums paid: $0.50/hr and unlimited more from referrals Hours paid: 40hrs/month maximum Referral levels: 4 |
10.
is a program that pays you to view ads and even more for clicking into links when you're
online. No need to "surf the web". Just be online. The money they claim to be paying is
impossible to believe! Yet, BePaid recently announced that the recent stock-market turmoil is making it harder for them to find many advertisers, so there will be less ads to show till spring 2000, when things are expected to go back to normal. Availability: Currently in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Sweden. Sums paid: At least $20/hr!!! (16 cents/30-second ad, +10 cents for visiting the advertiser's website)... but see above. Get 13% commission from direct referrals and 7% commission from their referrals. Hours paid: No limit mentioned Referral levels: 2 |
11. GetPaid4
is a program with several "sub-programs" and opportunities. It is not necessary to have your
browser open. Simply be connected to the Internet. Although I have read some good comments
(from other users) I have had trouble using this program in the past and I have stopped using it
for the moment. Please tell me your own experiences from this or any other program.
Availability: all over the world Sums paid: 70% of net advertising revenue (~$0.50/hr) and additional sums for your referrals. Hours paid: 75 hrs/month Referral levels: 7 |
Dead Programs Just like in every business, some companies will do better than others and some will even fail altogether. The targeted-ad business is no exception to this. Some paid-surfing companies have not made it and have shut down. Their main mistake was that they promised users a fixed rate (e.g. 20 cents/hour) no matter what they earned. So, when the bad times came along with the recent stock-market turmoil they were not able to live up to their promises and shut down. Programs that do not pay a fixed amount but simply a percentage of their earnings are preferable. Being paid less for a few months is OK if you know that the company will be around, and paying you, for a long time to come! Now, the field is clearer about which programs are going to be around and rates are expected to start rising again from Spring 2001 and on. CONCLUSIONS:
